Overview, Images

Apply now for a six-month Honorary Gallery Internship.

Gallery Interns play a valuable role in Blindside's day-to-day operations, acting as the point of contact for visitors, artists, and students, and responsible for the daily set-up and invigilation of exhibitions.

Gallery Interns are responsible for:
Solo Gallery invigilation and visitor engagement
General administration (updating mailing lists, statistics, exhibition listings)
Updating the online exhibition archive
Assisting the Gallery Coordinators with specific gallery projects

A regular, minimum commitment of 12-6pm one day per week for 6 months is required.

As this role is voluntary, Blindside offers interns the opportunity to shape a project specific to their interest area and skills development. Projects might involve, but are not limited to, writing exhibition texts, artist interviews, grant writing, managing public programs and events, a curated publication, an art walk or research into a specific aspect of Blindside.

Interns will be inducted and provided with training in specific gallery invigilation and administration tasks. There is also the option to gain experience with our Education Program. Interns work independently in the gallery following the induction and training session and communicate with Gallery Coordinators via email and in-person check-ins.

Gallery Interns are listed as part of the Blindside team on our website and credited for their contribution to projects.

So if you are keen to develop experience in a not-for-profit artist run initiative, and happy to offer your skill, time and experience, please:

You may also like to outline the nature of your self-devised project.
